GRADE 8 LANGUAGE
A preview of the year to come in Language.
This year you will be expected to expand your brain and increase your abilities. We will be reading everyday, so bring your novels, and we will focus on the fundamental skills of writing. Remember to write how you think, not how you speak and especially not how you text!
One of the most important things to remember when you are writing is SUPPORT, SUPPORT, SUPPORT!
As thinkers you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your skills through independent work and group projects, I encourage you to have fun and challenge the concepts of 'normal', don't just think about stepping outside of the box, explode out of it!
I have found a great website that will open your eyes and open your minds, UpWorthy.com. It contains many great articles and videos about current issues and opinions that make up our world. Enjoy it and explore it!
